The U.S. version of the soundtrack for the Beatles ill-fated British television special embellished the six songs that were found on the British Magical Mystery Tour double EP with five other cuts from their 1967 singles. The psychedelic sound is very much in the vein of Sgt. Pepper s, and even spacier in parts especially the sound collages of I Am the Walrus . Unlike Sgt. Pepper s, there s no vague overall conceptual/thematic unity to the material, which has made Magical Mystery Tour suffer slightly in comparison. Still, the music is great, and Penny Lane, Strawberry Fields Forever, All You Need Is Love, and Hello Goodbye were all huge, glorious, and innovative singles. The ballad The Fool on the Hill, though only a part of the Magical Mystery Tour soundtrack, is also one of the most popular Beatles tunes from the era.

EXCERPT FROM AN ONLINE REVIEW BY RICHIE UNTERBERGER, ALL MUSIC GUIDE /ALLMUSIC.COM/

CONDITION:

THE RECORD

IMPORTANT NOTE: unless otherwise noted, ALL records are graded visually, and NOT play-graded we grade records under the strong, diffuse room light or discrete sunlight

a THE ALBUM IS STILL FACTORY SEALED AND IS BELIEVED TO BE PERFECTLY MINT. Please note: sealed items are assumed to be mint and are sold as-is, as we have no way of inspecting them. For our policy on still sealed records click here PLEASE READ BEFORE PLACING A BID .

b The album comes with the original booklet still intact. we can see it through the opening

c The record is apparently pressed on a beautiful, thick, inflexible vinyl, which was usually used for the first or very early pressings. Usually, the sound on such thick vinyl pressings is full-bodied, vivid, and even dramatic. Do not expect to obtain such a majestic analog sound from a digital recording

d Of course, this is a full-bodied ANALOG recording, and not an inferior, digital recording

THE COVER

COVER IS NEAR MINT, STILL SEALED AND COVERED IN ITS ORIGINAL SHRINK WRAP PLEASE NOTE: THE SHRINK WRAP HAS BEEN SLIT OPEN ALONG ABOUT 10 OF THE OPENING SIDE, BUT THE ALBUM IS STILL VISIBLY SEALED

The following flaws or imperfections are noted on the cover:

- Cover has a neat, round PROMO cutout hole in one of the corners
