Item Description

Welcome to 20th Century Collectables Quality vinyl for the discerning collector The Beatles Please Please Me Genuine 1963 UK mono pressing 1st mother on the Black Gold Parlophone Label, with the ultra-rare Northern Songs label credits, catalogue number PMC 1202.
An investment grade black gold copy of the the rarer Northern Songs version.
A super example of this highly desirable classic which has received very few plays in its 51 year history and has been pressed from the first mother.
Stunning labels and impressive looking high gloss vinyl.
Comes in its original GOLD cover with the Angus McBean credit to the extreme right hand corner.
Don t miss out Please note: This is a different copy to the one that was previously listed on 20th Century Collectables.
Matrix numbers: XEX 421-1N XEX 422-1N Stamper codes: 1/T 1/H 1st Mother One of the earliest copies pressed Please check out the pictures and read on for further details:- CONDITION Disc Labels: nr MINT The all important black gold labels on this UK 1st pressing are truly superb with hardly any evidence of spindle trails or wear.
Side 2 has ridged labels which is from one of the earliest EMI presses used in the pressing plant in Hayes Middlesex.
Side 1 carries the MT tax code.
Visual: Side one EXCELLENT Side two EXCELLENT A superb fresh looking disc which still retains its original high gloss sheen.
The record has clearly received only a few plays in its 51 year history.
I would estimate between 6 - 12 plays in total.
A truly excellent copy which has been well cared for.
The vinyl is free from any deeps scratches or marks.
Side one is close to a nr mint grading and has only a couple of light non-feelable marks which do not effect play.
Side 2 grades at or around excellent.
It has a very light non feelable scuff mark which disappears when the record is angled and an ultra fine hairline visible in daylight, however none of these marks effect play.
It is very difficult to impress on collectors how scarce these unworn black gold copies are becoming.
Virtually all copies I come across are in poor condition, this record is an exception to the rule.
The heavy duty disc lies 100 flat on the turntable.
Audio: nr MINT Superb sounding audio which retains all of its original power and dynamism so associated with these early pressings.
All music signals are unworn and undistorted.
Very little to fault other than some very light surface noise between some gaps although most gaps are silent.
Cover EXCELLENT The record comes in its original E J Day GOLD cover with the Angus McBean credit located in the extreme right hand corner.
It is exceptionally difficult to find one of these early covers in unsoiled condition severely graded at excellent.
The front panel is in superb condition with unworn laminate.
On close inspection there is some corner wear to the bottom right hand corner but this is minimal.
The rear panel is in remarkable condition and is both fresh and clean with no soiling or ageing.
There is no writing or drawing to any part of the sleeve nor any tape stains or marks.
All flipbacks are intact however there is some laminate creasing and some minor imperfections along the bottom flipback and some light wear to the bottom right corner.
The spine is in superb unworn condition with the text Please Please Me The Beatles undamaged and clearly visible.
A superb example in exceptional condition with only one or two very minor defects preventing an exc or near mint grading.
Inner-sleeve EXCELLENT Clean, correct and fresh.
