BLACK SABBATH SABBATH BLOODY SABBATH ORIGINAL 1st UK PRESSING ISSUE CAT NO.
WMA 005 RARE AND EARLY ORIGINAL 1st UK PRESSING NEAR MINT AUDIO THROUGHOUT ONLY EVER PLAYED TWO TIMES EVER COMPLETE WITH LYRIC INNER SLEEVE AWESOME NEAR MINT THROUGH OUT Really Stunning Audio Earliest Possible 1 1 Matrix Endings Archive Copy Never Need To Upgrade Another from my personal collection Originally purchased from new in 1973 and only ever played one time to record to tape and then stored in a case with the vinyl removed from the sleeve and cover for protection.
This is how I have always stored my records.
I play tested the vinyl one time again prior to this listing, and the audio quality was almost as good as it gets in my opinion.
Near mint stunning top top audio through out Visually the vinyl looks near mint and there are no scratches, I can see a factory imperfection on one side in the form of a small blob that I can also feel but fortunately this has little if no effect on the stunning audio quality that I could hear on my systems, any effect it could have was obliterated by the stunning audio which I would grade as near mint through out .
Original 1st issue 1st UK pressing issue on WMA.
It has the original gatefold cover in very near mint condition and comes complete with the original lyric printed record sleeve Originally released in the UK on WMA labels then later re-released on NEMS labels My main interest in vinyl has always been the audio quality and from my personal experiance the best and most vibrant audio can only be found on the earliest pressings this features the earliest possible 1 1 Matrix endings.
The audio is awesome Near Mint throughout And also highly collectable in this very special top archive condition final upgrade quality Please Note I Will be listing the first eight studio UK Black Sabbath Albums here on Ebay all will be barely played and in near mint condition.
Please check out me other records listed.
When they are gone they are gone Sabbath Bloody Sabbath is the fifth studio album by the British heavy metal band Black Sabbath, released in 1973 With this album, the band expanded upon their slow, crunching style of music and included synthesizers, strings, keyboards and more complex, orchestral arrangements Following the 1972-1973 world tour in support of their Volume 4 album, Black Sabbath again returned to Los Angeles, California to begin work on their next album.
Pleased with the Volume 4 album, the band sought to recreate the recording atmosphere, and returned to the Record Plant Studios with new producer and engineer Tom Allom .
Although the album credits the band s manager Patrick Meehan as producer, guitarist Tony Iommi said Meehan s ego got involved, and he stuck his name down as producer .
With new musical innovations of the era, the band were surprised to find that the room they had used previously at the Record Plant was replaced by a giant synthesizer .
The band rented a house in Bel Air and began writing in the summer of 1973, but due in part to substance issues and fatigue, were unable to complete any songs.
Ideas weren t coming out the way they were on Volume 4 and we really got discontent Iommi said.
Everybody was sitting there waiting for me to come up with something.
I just couldn t think of anything.
And if I didn t come up with anything, nobody would do anything.
After a month in Los Angeles with no results, the band opted to return to England, where they rented Clearwell Castle in The Forest of Dean, Gloucestershire.
We rehearsed in the dungeons and it was really creepy but it had some atmosphere, it conjured up things, and stuff started coming out again .
While working in the dungeon, Iommi stumbled onto the main riff of Sabbath Bloody Sabbath , which set the tone for the new material.
Yes keyboardist Rick Wakeman was brought in as a session player, appearing on Sabbra Cadabra and Who Are You Black Sabbath released Sabbath, Bloody Sabbath on December 1, 1973.
For the first time in their career, the band began to receive favourable reviews in the mainstream press, with Rolling Stone calling the album an extraordinarily gripping affair , and nothing less than a complete success .
Later reviewers such as All Music s Ed Rivadavia cite the album as a masterpiece, essential to any heavy metal collection , while also displaying a newfound sense of finesse and maturity The MatrixSide 1 WMA 005 1 1 Earliest possible for this pressing Side 2 WMA 005 2 1 Earliest possible for this pressing The Vinyl.
The vinyl is absolutely superb on initial visual inspection, it looks totaly unplayed condition in my opinion no needle scratches or spider marks.
The vinyl lays perfectly flat on the turntable and is free of any warping.
Please note There is a small factory imperfection a very small mark/ blob that I can see and feel but amaizingly this has little if no effect on the audio quality at all that I could hear on my systems Vinyl Looks un played in my opinion.
The Audio QualityI have played this through track for track prior to listing at very loud volume on a top system.
The audio quality is superb TOP TOP TOP crystal clear and extremely vibrant no signs of any distortion or grooveware at all.
Audio grade at least excellent plus to near mint through out To be honest i couldn t see any needle scratches at all even in extreeme light , at least none that effect the audio.
The audio on this pressing in my opinion is almost as good as it could get for a very early original 1st pressing is very rare indeed.
Even in between tracks there is extreemely minimal noise I would class myself as highly critical and this is a truly exceptional sounding vinyl and the 5th EVER ALBUM RELEASED by this awesome band Black Sabbath and can be very difficult to catch a find like this Please check my completed listings of records that i have sold of this calaber and you will see that i normally get it right Please note That i always make this disclaimer That although I never heard any clicks or pops during the play of this record please allow for the odd static crackle tick here and there certainly not consistant throughout the audio, but this is a genuine 35 year old vinyl that would have been played on a 35 year old system THIS PLAYED VERY NEAR PERFECT ON MY SYSTEM NO DISTORTION AND NO SIGNS THAT THIS HAS BEEN OVERPLAYED VERY RARE TO FIND Points to note This has been stored in a case laying dormant for at least 25 years A build up of dirt and dust in the grooves from laying dormant causes static crackle ticks A constant clean before each play is recomended This would reduce any static and enhance the audio quality Audio Summery. The best and most vibrant audio on vinyl comes from the earliest stampers original pressings.
This plays throughout with no problems at all.
Played at very loud volume on a top system there were no loud clicks or pops and certainly no jumps or skips perhapes allow for the very light static that may be heard in very quiet places very common on 70s pressings but to be honest i never heard any and certainly nothing in my opinion that spoilt the overall awesome enjoyment of this album. The Record SleeveThis is the original very thin paper lyric record sleeve with no splits or tares just light creasing with age only. The CoverThis is the original unlaminated card gatefold cover PRINTED IN ENGLAND So hard to find in this superbe condition no splits or tares amaizingly no creasing worth to mention Bare minimal marks or rubbing only to mention rarely seen in this awesome top condition ORIGINAL 1st issue at least excellent plus if not better in my opinion An archive copy never need to upgrade earliest 1st UK pressing highly collectable like this HOW I SEND MY RECORDS THIS ALBUM WILL BE
