Blue/black Columbia SX 6157. Mono UK 1st pressing. 1967
Matrixes: XEX 3419 - 2 XEX 3420 -1
Stampers: 1M 1G
Tax code: K T
The sleeve does not have File Under Popular on the rear top right - so this is a genuine 1st press. It is extremely hard to find this version omitting the FUP text.
Descritpion of vinyl
In strong sunlight there are some whispy hairlines. VG
Despite my proviso in the text above, I have in fact played this LP all the way through just now, for the first time since I owned it which is about 25 years . There is a visble scratch on side 2 on tracks one and two - which is not finger detectable or audibly detectable. There are no skips or jumps. The sound is crisp and clear. There are of course the occasional crackles - the record is 52 years old. The record plays amazingly and the mono sound is breathtaking still after all these years. One of the classic albums of the 60s.
Descritpion of labels
Blue/black Columbia. Some small evidence of spindle marks. Tax code K T.
Descritpion of sleeve
The sleeve really is in great condtion. A definite VG . Four sharp corners. No File Under Popular. Ernest J. Day and Co. Flipback. No writing, tears, splits. You can just make out the shape of the record on the front cover at the right angle. And along a tiny part of this is a slight laminate lift of a couple of 2cm. I would not call it ring-wear. On the rear at the seams and the corners has some slight age browning.
Description of inner
Original inner has small splits on left and right, approximately 5-8 cms long. A couple of small brown stains at the top on front and back.
