Item Description

BLACK CAT BONES - BARBED WIRE SANDWICH

A truly excellent condition copy of this rare 1970 UK 1st press rock/blues gem

Year/Label : 1970 UK DECCA nova

Label number : STEREO SDN 15

Matrix numbers : ZAL-9431.P-2W / ZAL-9432.P-1W

Stampers : 1 11 / 2D 11

Gleaming, jet black sheen, and truly excellent EX condition vinyl with the only marks being just a couple of faintest of faint paper scuff marks and x2 very faint thin scuff lines on side 1 - all only really visible under close inspection when the vinyl is tilted at at angle in a bright light. Similarly, each label is near perfect with the only blemishes being just a few small and very faint spindle lines adjacent to the centre hole on each label, again supporting the view that this record has been only sparingly played. Very good plus VG condition and eminently presentable front side only laminated outer sleeve with all of the colours, art work, photos and text remaining beautifully intact. The only blemishes each very minor are the occasional 1cm laminate crease adjacent and perpendicular to the front side edges, a light 4cm diagonal surface crease at the front top right corner, a very small area of laminate lift at each of the opening edge corners, some very light shelf wear marks on the reverse side, and the text S70 hand written in blue biro at the top left of the reverse side. There is no opening edge fraying, age discolouration is at an absolute minimum and the edges remain firm and unscuffed with all spine text perfectly legible. Superb, near mint NM STEREO audio quality with no skips, jumps, repeats, sticks, clicks, interference, distortion or background crackle. This record plays as well as it did on the first day it was purchased, an unbelievable 53 years ago Great tone with crystal clear vocals and instrumentation and every track a brilliant listen. For me the acid test of the audio quality on this LP is the side 2 track Four Women , a quiet 5 minute ballad - well on this copy I did not detect a single click or even a nano-second of crackle What a fabulous rock/blues/psych LP this is - every track is an absolute cracker and worth buying for the mesmerising guitar licks on Good Lookin Woman alone Comes with original and near perfect condition poly-lined blue and white inner sleeve with no seam splits, a single small and non-obvious crease in one corner, no edge fraying and no age discolouration.

What an impressive rock/blues album this is with every track a great listen, and probably not many better condition copies of this 1970 1st press gem than this
