CONDITION

Cover

EXC to MINT-

An original 1968 1st issue MONO top opening numbered sleeve 0290395 in stunning condition. This original 1968 MONO cover shows very little signs of wear or handling and with the exception of some very light storage bruising to the bottom left corner, is hard to fault. Carefully stored in a smoke free environment for over 50 years, it shows virtually no signs of discolouration, still retaining it s original white or cream coloured appearance. The laminate still retains its original high gloss sheen and is free from any scratches. The laminate over the word THE BEATLES is undamaged and intact. The interior gatefold is in pristine condition and grades at near MINT condition. There is no writing or personlisation to any part of the cover. The cover grades somewhere between excellent and nr MINT condition.

Visual

Disc 1

Side one: EXCELLENT- Side two: EXCELLENT

A factory shaving still visible in the centre hole suggests this record has been played only very moderately over it s 55 year history. There is a very faint whispy hairline visible in strong daylight on side one and the occasional handling mark, but overall the vinyl is in a well preserved condition side one grades at excellent minus. Side two has some light handling marks visible in strong daylight but still retains it s original high gloss sheen and would appear to have received fewer plays than side one. Side one grades at excellent.

Disc 2

Side three: EXCELLENT Side four: EXCELLENT

Disc two has only a minimum of light handling marks visible in strong daylight. Sides three and four grade at excellent.

Both discs lay 100 flat on the turntable.

Labels

Side 1 EXC to MINT- Side 2 EXC to MINT-

A well preserved and fresh set of labels showing only light spindle trails. A factory shaving is still visible in the centre hole. There is no writing or personalisation to either label.

Side 3 EXCELLENT Side 4 EXCELLENT

A well preserved set of labels showing some spindle trails. There is no writing or personnalisation to either label.

Audio

Disc 1

EXCELLENT

Superb audio with no groovewear or distortion to any of the music signals. Smooth and rich analogue sound throughout. There is some light surface noise in some of the quieter passages when played at high volume. I noticed some light static on the fade out to Dear Prudence and Glass Onion. Obladi Oblada grades at MINT- as does the Continuing Story of Bungalow Bill. The easily damaged tracks While My Guitar Gently Weeps, Blackbird, Piggies and I Will also play superbly and grade at MINT-

Disc 2

MINT-

Stunning MONO analogue audio on this very special 1G/1G 1st pressing and one the finest MONO copies I ve heard. All tracks play superbly and there is no distortion, surface noise or wear to any of the music signals. The easily damaged tracks, Mother s Nature s Son, Long Long Long and Cry Baby Cry play perfectly. The MONO audio on this 1G/1G pressing will not disappoint.

Neither disc jumps or sticks and there are no loud pops or ticks.

Inner-sleeves Excellent- / Excellent

Original vintage black inners dating to 1968. Fully intact with no seam splits.

Poster EXC to MINT-

Original and genuine 1968 1st issue lipstick poster. Clean and fresh with only very light handling marks. There are no seam splits or pin holes. A superb example and tough to get in this condition.

Photos MINT-

Original and genuine 1st issue photos on the thicker card stock, positively dating to 1968. A superb fresh set with no writing or pin holes to any photo. It is clear the photos have remained untouched in the sleeve since the date of purchase in 1968.
