very nice front with small sticker tear but little wear otherwise, edge wear.
diplays very nicely.
VINYL CONDITION : VG very nice, minor surface marks, extra thick vinyl, clean labels.
NOTES : seriously rare quite nice original FRENCH promotional only pressing with a spectacular SALVADOR DALI cover.
this album was released in connection with dali s own perfume line also called ROCK N ROLL, created in 1957.
the elaborate perfume packaging, the promotional posters, and this album cover all use this distinct red, black white painting, presumably created specifically for this release the connected promotions.
note that this artwork is NOT the famous dali painting titled ROCK N ROLL but a totally different unrelated piece of art.
the perfume itself was inspired by american rock n roll, and dali called it the most dionysiac perfume in the world.
an extremely cool piece of art rock history, barely known or documented in any form.
i don t believe this lp has ever been offered on ebay before, is not listed in the discogs database, and does not appear in any lp discographies that i m aware of.
would be very reasonable to assume this is the rarest dali lp cover made the album features : THE BELL BOYS, DOLORES WARE, SUGAR AND SPICE, LOUIS JORDAN, THE PLATTERS, SIL AUSTIN, THE PENGUINS, RED PRYSOCK, ELLA JOHNSON, THE CASHMERES, MIKE SARGE, and TITUS TURNER.
