J.S. Bach: The Complete Suites for Cello Solo No.1-6
extremely rare German set with 3x 12inch vinyl LP s plus 10inch LP released 1954-57 on silver ARCHIV PRODUKTION label by Deutsche Grammophon with catalognumbers APM 14029, APM 14044, APM 14061, and AP 13034.
Note this set includes all the early pressings with the square 33 on its labels ... collectors and audiphiles will know that later pressings came with a triangle 33 logo.
Beautiful stitched triple foldout covers are in best possible exc to nm condition, and all come complete with their green inserts outlining the recording details.
I playgraded each vinyl with my vintage EMT mono pickup system on highend equipment as follows ...
14029 APM Suite No.1 No.2 ... heavy 200 gram vinyl with triple foldout cover dated 11.54:
- Side 1: nm ... with 25.5.54 date stamped into trail-off vinyl
- Side 2: nm ... with 26.5.54 date stamped into trail-off vinyl
14044 APM Suite No.3 No.4 ... heavy 200 gram vinyl with triple foldout cover dated 8.56, obviously hardly ever played:
- Side 1: nm ... top condition with only 1-2 spindlemarks
- Side 2: nm ... top condition with only 1-2 spindlemarks
139029 AP Suite No.5 10inch LP ... heavy vinyl with triple foldout dated 5 57:
- Side 1: nm ... two light hairlines visible but do not affect play
- Side 2: nm ... two light hairlines visible but do not affect play
14061 APM Suite No.6 ... heavy 200 gram vinyl with triple foldout dated 8 57:
- Side 1: nm ... a couple light hairlines visible under strong light, but do not affect play
- Side 2: exc/nm ... some light hairlines visible under strong light hardly affect play, couple very light tics but no harsh long repetive clicks
Collectors and audiophiles will know how extremely rare this first edition 1950s record set is in any condition. These are the best vinyl copies I have seen in many years, and I really enjoyed the music when I playgraded it.
