If you ve been looking for a genuine and authentic 3rd State peeled Los Angeles Stereo Butcher Cover that you will be proud to display, look no further It s been quite a while since we have offered a nice West Coast example such as this.
These STEREO jackets are at least five times as rare as their mono counterparts but some say 10 times as rare. Additionally, the 5 Los Angeles Jackets are that much more rare due to the difficulty of the peeling process. At any rate, mono was still the more produced designation in 1966 as far as Beatles records go. Please view the photos and compare with other peels on the web in this price range.
Make no mistake about it, the overall quality of the peel is above what you normally see anywhere. These correctly peeled STEREO jackets are much harder to come by in such displayable condition.
Although it is sad each week to see more and more recently poorly peeled covers go up for sale, the good news is that jackets such as this that present well are only increasing in value as more and more get destroyed each week by amateur peel attempts.
The jacket and record are both nice as well on this example with only very minor condition issues. Please read the jacket description below for specific details on condition.
Please check our positive feedback for customer satisfaction of past sales of genuine Butcher Covers. Also look at realized prices of completed auctions and compare. We cannot stress enough how few of these LA 5 jackets are out there is this condition.
While the market is currently getting flooded with overhyped/over-graded peels with large obvious large scars/damage/paper residue etc, the good news for buyers is that this is one is better than what is usually seen out there in most any price range. But don t just take our word for it, look around and compare what you are buying for what price. Take a close look at the photos and please see below for specific condition description.
This item will be safely and securely double boxed and shipped to you via Priority Mail.
Please read complete description and view photos carefully prior to bidding.
Condition:
Front of Jacket:
Front Peeled Butcher Slick is awesome and presents nicely from a professional peeling process. No evidence of major ripping or other serious issues. Only the most minor of edge wear, glue residue/factory glue lines, etc. The photos pretty much speak for themselves as far as condition is concerned.
Please see photos to verify the specific conditions described and feel free to contact with questions.
Seams:
Top seam is decent and unspilt. Bottom seam appears to have a few inches of a beginning crack that appears to be closed so as to prevent spreading see seam photos . To protect the integrity what remains of the seams and avoid future damage, a record should never be attempted to be placed into this jacket. Due to the frailty of seams, we cannot warrantee these seams or seam repairs.
Spine:
Spine is also decent and mostly complete with most writing intact and legible. See Spine photos .
Back Of Jacket:
The back of the jacket displays some light wear/staining but nothing too horrible. See photo of back
Trunk Slick:
Removed trunk slick is NOT INCLUDED but please see video to observe peeling process:
Record/Inner Sleeve:
Comes complete with STEREO West Coast STEREO pressing in EX visual condition by conservative Goldmine standards. Correct West Coast Goldenrod CAPITOL INNER SLEEVE with this record that displays a typical bottom split of a few inches. Record will come in an archival quality anti static sleeve.
Terms Of Auction/Shipping:
Due to recent inflation and subsequent increases in actual USPS shipping costs, Buyer pays 39.99 for properly packed double boxed priority shipping with tracking. Regardless, the cost to you will be capped at 39.99. Bidders with low feedback or new accounts must contact us prior to bidding on this item. Seller reserves the right to cancel bids at any time. Due to the exceptional cost and labor involved in shipping this item, this is being sold AS IS and there are No Returns on this purchase. Please review all photos and descriptions and please contact with questions prior to bidding. This item has been through a laborious process from the 2nd state to what you see here, and as such, the grading is unique on this item. This cannot be graded like a comic book or a baseball card due to the fact that this jacket has twice been altered from its original state, once by the paste over process at the Capitol Factory and likewise by the peeling process. Any minor imperfections are from either process. The photos speak for themselves and we do our best to accurately grade these historic artifacts.
Please note that T-shirt in background is NOT INCLUDED in this auction.
