Item Description

ORIGINAL 1st VEE-JAY RECORDS LP-1062 MONO PRESSING VERSION 2

THE BEATLES INTRODUCING THE BEATLES 1964

VERY COLLECTIBLE EXAMPLE IN A STILL FACTORY SEALED CONDITION

ONE OF RARE SLICK VARIATIONS WITH A LARGE SPACE AFTER THE COMMA IN PLEASE, PLEASE ME

RED BACKGROUND VEE-JAY RECORDS INNER SLEEVE

On January 16, 1964, less than a week after the 1st Version of Introducing The Beatles was released, Vee-Jay Records was served with a restraining order stopping further distribution of the Love Me Do and P.S. I Love You tracks whose publishing rights belonged to Capitol Records subsidiary, Beechwood Music, Inc. In order to bypass the restraining order Vee-Jay replaced these two tracks with the previously omitted Ask Me Why and Please, Please Me . The Version 2 of Introducing The Beatles appeared in stores for sale in the early February, 1964. It s impossible to find nowadays a copy of this album in a factory sealed condition as it s usually located in private collections and the collectors are quite reluctant to part ways with it, unless there s a special reason. The currently listed copy is in superb condition. Original Monophonic cover with the LP 1062 catalog number in the lower right-hand corner on the front as well as the bottom spine and VJLP 1062 in the upper right-hand corner of the paste over slick on the back. The back cover s paste over slick lists the song titles in thick black print in two columns indicating Please, Please Me with a comma. This copy s cover represents a rarer variation with a large space after the comma. The VJ brackets logo is centered at the top above the title of the album. The cover s mouth is tightly sealed with the intact shrink wrap but if you look carefully, you could see the red background Vee-Jay Records inner sleeve inside.

Pristine still factory sealed Mint copy with the perfectly sharp corners and almost 60 years of outstanding storage. The top left corner still has the original record store price tag affixed to the cover with a staple. The factory shrink wrap containing the original breathe holes remains fully intact and doesn t have any splits, tears or missing pieces.
