Item Description

Starting to pare down my music collection. Today s auction is for a super-rare CD by the Beatles, Abbey Road. This was the first CD officially released of the Beatles material. This CD is well-regarded by Audiophiles as providing the closest sound to the Master recordings and noted for being a pre-emphasis pressing Pre-emphasis is a process used in CD pressing to improve the signal-to-noise ratio SNR of a recording.

Based on research I did via Discogs and other sources see below , I believe this is the first pressing of this CD which was originally pressed by Sony Japan 1983-84 on behalf of Toshiba EMI/Odeon. Highly collectible.

PLEASE READ I have relisted this CD after two false starts...the first auction was never consummated by the buyer the second auction I ended early because I received some advice from a friendly, knowledgeable eBayer that suggested that this copy might be a bootleg copy. Because I want my auctions to be as accurate as possible please see my perfect feedback rating , I pulled the listing down. Shortly after I cancelled the auction my first cancellation ever , another friendly, knowledgeable eBayer wrote me and in the course of our correspondence, he indicated he was sure it was NOT a bootleg. He helpfully pointed at an authoritative source, a fellow named Andrew who hosts a YouTube channel dedicated to the Fab Four, Parlogram. Based on this expert s detailed description of the bootleg in a YouTube video Title: What Is The BEST SOUNDING Version of The Beatles Abbey Road? Solved , I am now very certain that this is indeed what I originally thought it was - a first pressing as described below. Nevertheless, the low starting bid is evidence that I will let the market determine the authenticity of the disc. If you think this CD is real -- as I do -- please bid in confidence on the other hand, if you believe that this CD is the bootleg version - and you don t want to buy a bootleg -- please do not bid. Of course, I am happy to answer every and all questions and supply alternative photos. I have supplemented the original listing with a few new relevant photos. Thanks for your understanding. Condition: CD VG- / Booklet/insert M- / Case VG

Description: Disc is clean with only light surface hairline scratching. Booklet looks untouched no marks or impressions from CD case. Does not have the original obi. Appears to have the original old heavy smooth sided case/tray with the words Patent pending at rear bottom right corner some light surface scratching to the case.
