Original promotional copy of the US issue of The Rolling Stones debut album released by London Records on May 30, 1964. The cover had the England s Newest Hit Makers banner which later on became the album s official title. The front side of this textured cover contains a blurb reading FREE full color photo of THE ROLLING STONES inside in the lower left-hand corner. The cover contains a round Promotional Copy Not For Sale sticker affixed to the front cover. Original 11 x 11 textured The Rolling Stones photo insert which features the same artwork as the album s front cover. Original Made in England London Records 2.75 deep groove pressing ring Not For Sale white labels with a boxed London FFRR logo and LL.3375DJ catalog number unlike the LL 3375 indicated on the cover. 1st promotional pressing containing the 1st -3A / -3A matrix numbers with the full matrix numbers being as follows: Side 1: XARL-6291-3A Side 2: XARL-6292-3A. This promotional album comes with an original London Records poly-lined U.K. Patent No. 1,072,844 inner sleeve.
We grade the textured matte cover of this promotional issue as Excellent. It s very clean and doesn t have any splits, writing, soiling, residue or tears. The front cover doesn t have any shelf wear or ring wear while shelf wear is present on the back cover. The top left corner of the back cover has a light crease and the top right corner has blank white sticker. The sturdy spine contains a fully readable text. The original poster is in Near Mint condition. The vinyl is graded as Excellent for Side 1 and Near Mint Minus for Side 2 as it looks unplayed. The vinyl retains its beautiful factory lacquer with Side 1 only having a couple of very light non-feelable surface hairlines which don t affect the playback in any way. The beautiful snow white labels are in pristine Near Mint condition, practically Mint Minus, and don t have any scuffs, wear or spindle marks. The vinyl plays great with a soft and warm Mono sound perhaps only having some very light occasional static which most likely would go away if the record was professionally cleaned using a VPI cleaning machine. The original London Records poly-lined inner sleeve is in Near Mint condition and doesn t have any splits or tears.
