mesi dalla celebrit nel marzo del 1967 quando suonarono in cinque
concerti per un pubblico scarseggiante in un piccolo club di San
Francisco chiamato The Matrix. Le esibizioni disinibite avrebbero avuto
vita breve se non fosse stato per Peter Abram, co-proprietario del
nightclub con il fondatore dei Jefferson Airplane Marty Balin. Regista
amatoriale, Abram registrava regolarmente i concerti al The Matrix e le
sue registrazioni dei Doors, effettuate tra il 7 e l 11 marzo 1967,
hanno dato vita uno dei bootleg pi leggendari della band. Finalmente,
tutte le registrazioni conosciute di The Matrix, provenienti interamente
dalle registrazioni originali di Abram, saranno pubblicate l 8
settembre.

disponibile dall 8 settembre in cofanetti di 3 CD e 5 LP. La produzione
della versione in vinile limitata a 14.000 copie numerate in tutto il
mondo. La performance della band del 7 marzo della strumentale jazz
Bag s Groove disponibile esclusivamente nel cofanetto di vinili ed
disponibile su un singolo 7 . Bag s Groove una delle due

Oggi, le
registrazioni originali di Abram sono state rimasterizzate da Bruce
Botnick, ingegnere e mix engineer di lunga data dei Doors, per la
pubblicazione ufficiale. La versione in vinile di LIVE AT THE MATRIX
1967: THE ORIGINAL MASTERS include tutte le 37 canzoni degli spettacoli
provenienti dai nastri originali. Ad eccezione di 15 canzoni pubblicate
nel 2017 e nel 2018 come esclusive del Record Store Day, molte delle
registrazioni live recentemente aggiornate stanno facendo il loro
debutto nella collezione, tra cui otto che non sono mai state presenti
