PRETTY THINGS - PARACHUTE
A lovely copy of this 1970 UK 1st press psych gem with gleaming, little played vinyl
Year/Label : 1970 UK HARVEST
Label number : SHVL 774
Matrix numbers : SHVL 774 A - 2, SHVL 774 B - 2
Stampers : 1 H / 1 P
Excellent plus EX condition vinyl - flat, weighty and retaining beautiful jet black lacquered sheen. In daylight the condition of the vinyl comes across as completely unmarked and it is only with close inspection under a bright light that just a couple of small and very faint wispy hairlines and barely discernible paper scuff lines come into view - super condition Each label is excellent with the only blemish being a few small and very faint rogue spindle trails adjacent to teh centre hole on each label. Note the absence of the EMI box, signifying a very 1st UK pressing. A very good plus VG exterior laminated outer gatefold sleeve - the edges are firm with the only scuffing being some intermittent and very mild scuff marks on the bottom front-side edge, the corners are still nicely defined right angles with minimal rubbing, the opening sides are firm with no fraying, and all art work, photos, and text remain impressibvely intact with vibrant colours and clear definition. The interior of the gatefold is near perfect and the only other blemishes again, very trivial are the occasional light surface laminate crease front and back , a few very light 1cm laminate creases perpendicular and adjacent to the spine front and back , a couple of tiny nicks towards the middle of the front side, and just the merest hint of some ring wear on the reverse side only visible when held at the correct angle in a good light . In other words still fully functional and still eminently presentable Terrific excellent plus EX stereo sound quality throughout with no sticks, skips, repeats, distortion, clicks or background crackle. Wonderful tone and crystal clear STEREO audio reproduction throughout with every track a great listen - what an underrated album this is Comes complete with original poly-lined EMI/Harvest inner sleeve, with no side splits or edge fraying though there is some mild creasing and just a little very mild age discolouration towards the edges. Note that I always ship the vinyl in a new plain white inner sleeve in order to protect the original.
Under the radar upon first release some 55 years ago, vastly underrated and now quite rightly sought after as a worthy asset to any serious psych/prog vinyl collection.
