Believed to be the first pressing and has only ever come up a handful of times on major internet auction sites - the most it has ever sold for is 1500 USD.

Extremely clean with a beautiful gloss. Just the occasional light scuff or faint hairline visible under strong light. Minimal to no spindle wear around the label centre.
The sleeve s major issue is the faded marker pen writing both front and back of an assumed identification mark, D104 . Mild discolouration and ring wear are present. Corners and inner edge has mild scuffing but thankfully, all laminate is in place both sides , the flip backs and spine are all solid.
The record arrived with in a plastic inner which I immediately replaced in a better quality anti static example . I am unsure if this is original or not but will include.
Playback:
Fully play-tested twice. Playback is generally strong, with some light background crackle and hiss, particularly noticeable - as expected - on the quieter, non-orchestrated side.
A few isolated clicks and pops are present notably on the second band of the Paganini side two short bursts, each lasting no more than two rotations. The third band has a light click for 3 rotations .
Tested using a stereo stylus so playback may well improve further when played with the correct mono stylus.
Noted Issue:
Three brief instances of static have been noted across both sides. These are:
- Concerto side: A faint burst in the deadwax/run-in groove immediately before the music starts lasting milliseconds .
- Paganini side: A short burst of static in the deadwax/run-in groove approximately 3 seconds before the start around 1 second long .
- Paganini side: A brief static noise approximately 10 seconds into the recording lasting about half a second .
Nothing is visibly apparent to the naked eye in daylight in these areas, leading me to suspect this could be a pressing issue. Online research suggests a possible instance of non-fill - a known manufacturing defect where the vinyl fails to fully fill the groove mould, often due to insufficient heat or pressure during pressing.
Final Comments:
This has been a challenging record to grade. Firstly, due to the age, recording techniques, and the label s production standards at the time, it s possible some of the background noise is inherent, even on mint copies. Secondly, the subtle but present signs of non-fill suggest a mild pressing flaw.
If you re seeking a mint or flawless copy, this won t meet that standard. However, I ve been intentionally critical in this description to avoid any misrepresentation particularly given the rarity of this pressing. That said, this still represents a very respectable and collectable example of a highly sought-after title.
Grading System From 20th Jan 2024 I Will be using the Goldmine Grading System as follows: MINT A record that is in perfect condition and has never been played. I will only use this grading if the record is sealed. Near Mint NM or M- The record appears to have never been played or has been played very few times . The record has no visible signs of wear or damage. The cover has no creases, folds, seam splits, cut-out holes, or any other noticeable defects. Excellent EX

A record that has been played but is still in excellent condition. Defects are of a cosmetic nature, not affecting the actual playback as a whole. Record surfaces may show some signs of wear and may have slight scuffs or very light scratches that don t affect one s listening experience. Slight warps that do not affect the sound are OK . The label may have some ring wear or discoloration, but it should be barely noticeable. Spindle marks may be present. The cover/box may have slight signs of wear and may be marred by a cut-out hole, indentation, or cut corner. In general, if not for a couple of minor things wrong with it, this would be Near Mint. Very Good VG The record has obviously been played. Surface noise will be evident upon playing, especially in soft passages and during a song s intro and fade, but will not overpower the music otherwise. Groove wear will start to be noticeable, as with light scratches deep enough to feel with a fingernail that will affect the sound. Labels may be marred by writing, or have tape or stickers or their residue attached. The same will be true of covers and will show obvious signs of wear and tear. Good G The record has obviously been played. A record that has been heavily played and may skip or repeat. There may be noticeable noise or distortion on the recording.
