Item Description

The Ethiopians - Come On Now/ She-Boom

Doctor Bird DB 1141 UK 7 Single 1968

This is a 1968 UK 1st pressing 7 Single in very nice overall condition The record is pressed on thick vinyl has smooth, green yellow, paper Doctor Bird labels on the A-side, and textured, green yellow, paper Doctor Bird labels on the B-side. The labels have a 4 pronged centre.
The record has 1st press DB 1141 A and DB 1141 B matrix numbers. These are machine stamped in the dead wax. It comes complete with its original generic company paper sleeve. This has an animal print design. These are not that common. Th e paper sleeve has a wavy die-cut top opening area.
This is a genuine UK 1st pressing of this excellent late 1960 s Rocksteady/ Ska 7 Single. These are very rare I have a few other rare and collectible UK original 1960 s Reggae/ Ska/ Rocksteady UK 7 Singles LP s. So please see my other listings.
Vinyl: There is a light 2.5 cm hairline paper sleeve rub mark on the A-side. This can hardly be seen under a strong light. There is another very light 1.5 cm hairline surface paper sleeve rub mark on the A-side too. This is barely visible under a strong light. There is a thumb tip sized area of mild surface paper sleeve rub marks on the A-side. These can hardly be seen under a strong light. There is a very light 1.5 cm hairline surface paper sleeve rub mark on the B-side. This, also, can hardly be seen under a strong light.
Otherwise, there are some light, mild, very mild or very minor surface paper sleeve rubs which can hardly be seen under a strong light. The original paper sleeve, over time, has left some light, very mild or very minor feint, or dull, surface paper marks on some areas. These, again, can hardly be seen under a strong light. Overall, the vinyl is in Very Good condition. The labels are in Excellent condition and show light or very mild spindle wear only.
The original company paper sleeve is in Very Good condition. There is some light, mild or very mild ringwear creasing. There are no seam splits. This late 1960 s company paper sleeve is hard to find in this very nice condition.
I have play tested this single in its entirety it plays Very Good overall, Near Excellent in some places. There is some light, mild, very mild or very minor crackle in the background to a varying degree. This, in the main, is extremely quiet is very much in the background never overpowers the music. This music still shines through There are no clicks or pops. Overall, a very reasonable audio copy.
I shall place the vinyl into a separate plain paper sleeve. This will protect the original picture sleeve from any damage during the shipping process.
Traceable insurance is already included in the stated P P price for this listing.
Discount is given on P P for multiple purchases. I shall always weigh combined purchases to get a completely accurate price. So please wait for the invoice to be sent before paying. Please see below for a more detailed description.

gt gt Grading Information All grading is very strict adheres to Record Collector specifications. However, I have fine tuned them they are explained below. All vinyl is examined closely under a strong light play tested.
MINT Condition A perfect copy Almost impossible to find like this.
NEAR MINT Condition Very nearly mint just slightly under, There may be a very few, very light paper surface sleeve rubs that can hardly be seen under strong light. This disc has been played a couple of times at most. The sleeve is virtually perfect - there is very minimal wear only.
EXCELLENT Condition A clean tidy copy that shows minimal defects. There will be light, very mild or very minor surface sleeve rubs. There will be no scratches. The cover will be very nice clean with maybe minimal creasing, ringwear or edge rubbing wear etc...
NEAR EXCELLENT Condition You can tell this record has been played a few times, but it has been well cared for. There will be minor surface marks only. The sleeve may have light, mild or very mild creasing, ringwear very mild rubbing wear to the edges etc.... Overall, it will be a very serviceable copy that you will be pleased with.
Very Good Condition A well played but very decent overall copy. There will be a few marks on the vinyl, but they won t be nasty scratches, just relatively light needle scuffs and sleeve removal marks, they will be noticeable but won t detract from play too much. Cover will show signs of storage/ ageing, e.g., creasing, slight folding, spinewear, ringwear or sticker tears etc... The record will not be trashed
Please note that I also use or - symbols for this grading. A plus symbol is obviously at the top end of Very Good is really not far from being in near excellent condition. The minus symbol obviously means it is at the lower end. This will mean that it is near to being in Good condition.
gt gt Postage Rates

AN INVOICE WILL BE SENT TO YOU VERY SOON AFTER THE AUCTION ENDS. PLEASE WAIT FOR THIS BEFORE PAYING.
Please note that these prices include packaging costs too
Double LPs are classed as two LPs. Also gatefold sleeves, posters, inserts, etc.. can increase postage costs.
Please note that there are now VAT import charges from the UK into all EU countries. Anything under 150 Euros will need an IOSS number. VAT is paid at point of sale. For any items over 150 Euros in value. There will be a customs charge too. These vary, I believe, from country to country. Please check your relevant postal service online for details. Please note that these charges are beyond my control and are the law for outside parcels going into the EU.
All records will be sent in high quality vinyl box/ mailers with at least two card stiffeners either side of the LP or 7 Single. I use a cruciform box for larger orders 3-6 LPs . All parcels will be marked Fragile and dispatch time will generally be between 1-3 days after payment.

I will also remove the vinyl from the sleeve place them in a re-sealable polythene sleeve. In order to prevent seam splits. Depending on the inner sleeve I often remove the vinyl from the inner sleeve place it in a separate plain paper, or polythene-lined, plain inner sleeve. I am very conscientious and careful when packaging your LP s .

I consider my postage packaging costs to be very transparent very fair. Packaging costs will generally be between 0.80 to 1.50. I am not adding any further costs for handling, etc...
If you are uncertain about any of the above, or just simply want some information regarding any item, please do not hesitate to contact me. I welcome any questions.

Remember to check out My Other Items Lots of rare quality vinyl Most are UK 1st Pressings. It is quite likely that there will be more records by this artist, or records in a similar vein.
