Here is the original pressing of this sought after jazz title - D.B. Shrier Emerges on Alpha Records from 1967. It is the original deep groove mono pressing.
I ll try to explain the condition as best as I can. Visually the vinyl looks nice - especially side 2. Side 1 shows a few minor surface scratches that do not affect play. Yes, there are occasional tics throughout the listening experience. Even where the vinyl looks clean you may hear a random pop but very seldom. The tics do not detract too much from a nice overall playing experience. There is a pop right at the end of the first tune on side 1 - during the applause and in the silence between the first and second tune.
I always go right to the silence between songs to hear the overall surface noise on albums I sell. This one, sometimes has a tiny amount of noise occasionally but overall it s pretty darn clean. Sometimes between tunes you hear absolutely NO NOISE sometimes there is a tiny amount. I hate to grade it because that is such a subjective opinion. I d rather tell you what I see and hear.
Side 2 looks absolutely gorgeous. I don t see any markings whatsoever. Again, even though the vinyl looks clean you may hear an occasional tic but rarely. During the ballad you can hear some minor noise here and there. It s not obtrusive in my opinion.
Overall the record sounds real nice with occasional tics.
See pics for cover condition. There is some ring wear on the front and back. I took pics of all sides of the spine. There is no title on the spine from manufacturing. There is some scuffing and corner dings. Again, look closely at the pics. The labels look nice with minor spindle wear on side 2. The original inner sleeve shows wear.
If you have any questions about the super rare record please drop me a line. It s being sold AS IS - no returns - due to the rarity and the fact that I ve had some buyers try to switch records on me. I caught a few with my tell tale fool proof method of ascertaining the records I sell, from a bogus return. I advise you not to even try it.
Check my other rare records this week and in the coming weeks. I combine shipping so do not pay until you get an invoice from me if you want me to save you money on shipping please. I advise you to purchase insurance on this rare side.
Thanks for looking and good luck
