CBS Records 202049 UK 7 Single 1966
This is a 1966 UK 1st pressing Picture Sleeve 7 Single in very nice overall condition UK Picture Sleeve pressings were printed in very limited numbers at the time. There is a non picture sleeve UK pressing as well. So not all UK 1st pressings came with a picture sleeve. They are extremely rare
The Picture Sleeve is printed on thick matte paper. It is the same image/ text on both sides. The sleeve is top opening and has a flipback along both side edges on the rear sleeve. The record is pressed on thick vinyl has part textured, part smooth orange paper CBS labels. These have a 4 pronged centre. The record has 1st press A-5314-1 and A-5315-1 matrix numbers. These are machine stamped in the dead wax.
This is a genuine UK Picture Sleeve 1st pressing of this superb mid 1960 s Freakbeat/ Garage Rock/ Mod 7 single. This single failed to catch on in the UK at the time and sold quite poorly. Therefore, UK original pressings are extremely rare. Especially with the picture sleeve.
The A-side is considered by many to be up there with the best UK Freakbeat tracks released. The A-side is also very popular as a Mod Dancer track too. It really is an outstanding track. It is, I believe, available to hear on Youtube if you are unfamiliar with it. The A-side is well worth checking out. I have a few other rare and collectable UK original 1960 s Psych Freakbeat 7 Singles for sale too. So please see my other listings.
Sleeve: There is a very small sized tear 1 cm by 0.5 cm at the centre area of the left side edge of the front sleeve see photo . There is a very tiny piece of the sleeve torn away in that area. There is a small fingertip sized rip on the rear sleeve. This is on the white border area, at the centre of the left side edge of the rear sleeve. Therefore, it doesn t really notice that much.
There is a mild 6 cm crease in the top left corner tip area on the front sleeve. This goes through the sleeve to a varying degree. There is a smaller lighter crease just above this in the same corner tip area too. There is a very mild 7 cm in the top corner tip area on the right hand side of the front sleeve. This, again, goes through the sleeve to a varying degree.
There are two tiny bits of pin-head sized areas of mild rubbing wear on the front sleeve. This is not too noticeable under a strong light. There are also a couple of small areas of extremely feint staining on one side edge on the front rear sleeve. This is barely visible under a strong light. There is some light, mild or very mild ringwear on some areas. There are no seam splits. Overall, the picture sleeve is in Very Good condition.
Vinyl: There is a mild 1 cm hairline surface mark on the B-side. There is a light 1.5 cm hairline surface mark nearby on the B-side too. This is not that noticeable under a strong light. There are two very feint hairline surface paper sleeve rub marks on the A-side. These measure 2 cm and 1.5 cm respectively. They can hardly be seen under a strong light. There is a very minor 1.5 cm hairline paper sleeve rub mark on the B-side too. This, again, can hardly be seen under a strong light.
Otherwise, there are some light, mild, very mild or very minor surface paper sleeve rubs which can hardly be seen under a strong light. The original picture sleeve, over time, has left some light, very mild or very minor feint, or dull, surface paper marks on some areas. These, again, can hardly be seen under a strong light. Overall, the vinyl is in Very Good condition. The Labels are in Very Good Excellent condition. There is a very small circular stain on the B-side label see photo . Otherwise, they are in very nice condition and show and show light or very mild spindle wear only.
I have play tested this single in its entirety. The A-side plays Very Good to Near Excellent overall Excellent in some places. There is some light, mild, very mild or very minor crackle in a few quieter places. There are no clicks or pops. The B-side plays Very Good to Very Good overall Near Excellent in some places. There is some light, mild, very mild or very minor crackle in some quieter places. There are no clicks or pops. Any crackle evident is always very much in the background. Overall, this is a very decent audio copy
I shall place the vinyl into a separate plain paper sleeve. This will protect the original picture sleeve from any damage during the shipping process.
Traceable insurance is already included in the stated P P price for this listing.

AN INVOICE WILL BE SENT TO YOU VERY SOON AFTER THE AUCTION ENDS. PLEASE WAIT FOR THIS BEFORE PAYING.
Please note that these prices include packaging costs too
Double LPs are classed as two LPs. Also gatefold sleeves, posters, inserts, etc.. can increase postage costs.
Please note that there are now VAT import charges from the UK into all EU countries. Anything under 150 Euros will need an IOSS number. VAT is paid at point of sale. For any items over 150 Euros in value. There will be a customs charge too. These vary, I believe, from country to country. Please check your relevant postal service online for details. Please note that these charges are beyond my control and are the law for outside parcels going into the EU.
All records will be sent in high quality vinyl box/ mailers with at least two card stiffeners either side of the LP or 7 Single. I use a cruciform box for larger orders 3-6 LPs . All parcels will be marked Fragile and dispatch time will generally be between 1-3 days after payment.
I will also remove the vinyl from the sleeve place them in a re-sealable polythene sleeve. In order to prevent seam splits. Depending on the inner sleeve I often remove the vinyl from the inner sleeve place it in a separate plain paper, or polythene-lined, plain inner sleeve. I am very conscientious and careful when packaging your LP s .
I consider my postage packaging costs to be very transparent very fair. Packaging costs will generally be between 0.80 to 1.50. I am not adding any further costs for handling, etc...Remember to check out My Other Items Lots of rare quality vinyl Most are UK 1st Pressings. It is quite likely that there will be more records by this artist, or records in a similar vein.
