:Up for your consideration is the next in a series of unique Lps, this one from the Donald Byrd Sextet.
Internet research showed that sometimes there is a booklet with the item.
This auction DOES NOT contain an original booklet.
However, on 2:24:14, a fellow e-bay faxed me a 7-page copy of the booklet, so I will include that with the item as well many thanks to him for that .
Personnel this LP: Donald Byrd trumpet Bernard McKinney euphonium Yusef Lateef tenor saxophone Barry Harris piano arranger Alvin Jackson bass Frank Gans drums Willie Bowen emcee.
Several unique things about this item: Firstly, the record retains the original shine with a few very light marks and fingerprints grading by sight in normal room light.
I m sure if you took this and put it under a 1000 watt bulb, you d probably find something that makes it less than mint.
If you re that kind of collector, and after a recent unpleasant experience with a buyer from Malaysia, let me suggest this auction is not for you.
I don t claim this record is mint.
Based on past experience and visual examination, I d expect the tracks to audibly average at least 1/2 of the way between VG excellent and Near Mint.
Given the high value of this LP past sales have gone for as much as 2556.00 , I will be providing a detailed track-by-track audio grade of the entire record.
02:20:2014: I took the time to play this disc and found the seven tracks to audibly average better than half way between VG excellent and Near Mint.
You can assign your own grade based on my comments and the grading scale shown below.
So this is your chance to own a unique item at a reasonable price.
Bid early and often so you don t miss out on this auction It is further described below, please take the time to read before bidding.

I am using the Goldmine scale of GGood 1 , VG Very Good 2 , VG Very Good Plus excellent 3 , NM Near Mint 4 when grading the disc s .

No stickers, no pen/pencil marks, a few spindle marks.
The label on side A is unglued I still have it, see scan .

Spine seam is split nearly top to bottom, except for 1 at the top and 1 at the bottom.
No stickers.
Front lower left corner has written in small print Charlie Parker see scan .
I m not the original owner of this LP, so I don t know why that signature is there.
I have no reason to believe it is signed by THE Charlie Parker.
I did a search on the Internet, and this signature DOES NOT match what I can find for a real Charlie Parker signature.
I do not claim to be a handwriting expert.
Slight general wear.
Cover is slightly bowed.
The top paper is starting to lift front upper left corner.
Rate the cover VG.
