This sale is for a vinyl copy of Mighty Baby s second album A Jug of Love, the follow up to their eponymous debut .
Released on Blue Horizon records in 1971 2931 001 this is a first pressing with matrix number 2931001 A//1 420 1 1 1 on the A side.
A real mystical mix of folk, world and psychedelia, I don t think it sold well at the time hence the rarity but has garnered a justified retrospective interest.
This copy when held to a bright light has a fair bit of light surface wear/ scuffs with one well defined hairline mark upon side one I would grade as Good / VG minus .
Listening through the first side it skips twice in the first few seconds of the first track, it has some light background crackle in the quieter moments. This however settles down by the second track which plays fine with no skips, pops or distortions, the second side plays through with no faults.
The labels on side A is pristine bright and clean, the second side has a small fingerprint smudge around the serial number.
The Sleeve shows a bit more wear so I have graded as G as although free from any splitting it does have a lot of creasing and edge wear, especially to the spine and spine titles. There is a pen marking of 1.50 to the rear cover and a small tear on the front where a price sticker has been removed.
