Item Description

DAVID BOWIE - THE MAN WHO SOLD THE WORLD This genuine original early UK 1st pressing of Bowie s 3rd studio album dates from initial November 1970 release On the black silver Mercury label: 6338 041 Machine stamped matrices: 6338041 1Y//1v420 6338041 2Y//1v420 Stamper codes: 1 1 4 1 1 1 Vinyl weight: 146g Housed within an original textured cover showing Bowie reclining in a man s dress , designed by British fashion designer Michael Fish Complete original poly-lined inner-sleeve CONDITION Labels: VERY GOOD Clean but with numerous spindle trails and slight wear to each centre hole.
Visual: VERY GOOD Both playing surfaces are clean but with a moderate amount of surface wear consistent with frequent play.
There are a small handful of hairline scratches visible in strong daylight with just one of which, measuring 6mm, on track 1 on side 2.
Closer inspection beneath halogen light reveals numerous wispy paper-type hairlines but no further significant or major faults.
Both sides of this cherished copy lie 100 flat on the turntable when playing.
Sound Quality: VERY GOOD Despite having been played many times, the sound quality is extremely impressive and is unworn throughout.
The only distractions during my play-check were a handful of licks on Running Gun Blues due to the aforementioned scratch , and some light vinyl background during the few quiet passages on this amazing album.
Cover: GOOD A fully intact, if a little tired example of this iconic cover which retains an clean, unworn and unblemished front panel.
There is general shelfwear to the corners but both opening edges are undamaged and free from any feathering or tears.
There is shelfwear to the upper lower edges but both seams are unsplit.
The rear panel is clean free from any significant blemishes.
The spine is quite worn with little of the text remaining, but it is still intact and has not split anywhere along its length.
Inner-sleeve: VERY GOOD Our grading is strict conservative grading in strong daylight directly beneath a halogen desk lamp to UK RECORD COLLECTOR standards.
Each record is professionally securely packaged in custom-made record mailing boxes with the disc removed from the cover.
This item is located in and will be shipped from AUSTRIA.
