Original 1st US Atlantic Records pressing of Led Zeppelin s 2nd studio album released on October 22, 1969. Holy grail Robert Ludwig s Hot mastering. Pressed at the Monarch Record Mfg. Co., Los Angeles, CA plant, this pressing is considered to be one of the best ones to fully convey Robert Ludwig s mastering. 1st print textured matte raw cardboard gatefold cover remains in the original factory shrink wrap. The front cover contains the original promotional Includes the Hit Single Whole Lotta Love hype sticker with the catalog number SD8236 affixed to the shrink wrap. The back cover contains a very rare track listing This Album Contains sticker affixed to the cover underneath the shrink wrap. 1st print Atlantic Records 1841 Broadway, New York, N.Y. address 2.75 pressing ring labels with the SD 8236 catalog number and the MO suffix identifying the Monarch pressing. The full matrix numbers are as follows: Side 1 - ST-A-691671-MO-BB MR LW 13933 AT RL SS W Side 2 - ST-A-691672-MO-CC T MR LW RL SS 13933-x W AT. This Robert Ludwig s Hot Mix mastering copy comes with the original From The Atlantic Catalogue inner sleeve showing the adverts for the other Atlantic releases.

The cover remaining in the original factory shrink wrap is in beautiful Near Mint Minus condition. The glossy vinyl is graded as somewhere between Strong Very Good and Very Good Plus. It retains its factory lacquer having some light surface marks and hairlines as well as scuffs from the original inner sleeve which is in Near Mint Minus condition and doesn t have any splits, tears or missing pieces. The clean labels are in Near Mint Minus condition and don t have any scuffs and wear. The vinyl sounds well in general but has light pops in several places as well as a couple of skips. Perhaps some flaws will disappear if you change the balance of your tonearm. Most likely, they could also could get reduced or go away if the record was professionally cleaned using a VPI cleaning machine.
