Description:
Led Zeppelin s debut LP and rare 1st UK press of Led Zeppelin . Released in 1969, this LP is a testament to the band s influential sound. This edition features the uncorrected matrix, corrected Superhype publishing credit label error, and the distinctive turquoise 1st version lettering on the sleeve that was swiftly replaced with an orange design. See reference from DC above.
The Outer Sleeve: - The front is relatively clean. There is a little laminate cresing, no rips, a slight blemish on the bottom of the grey stripe. Great condition all round the rear has a little laminate lift rt. hand side , a couple of light creases, nice and clean though and shows off the band photos well. The spine is great, a small tear in the middle, text readable and great pinching
The Inner Sleeve: - Made in England with the relevant patent numbers 800513 973939 has some discolouration and tiny split on the bottom, oly lining intact ...nice...
The labels: - Look bright, have no marks or writing and very little signs around both centre holes of it s past use. Very, very, nice - please view all the photos
The Vinyl: - visually is great - Side one - There is a very light hairline across last 2 tracks if you look closely. A few other very small spots but hardly there - excellent sheen - Side two - A little sign of wear, no major marks - looks really new in the main and has a great sheen too. Excellent also...
This really is a great example for its age
How does it sound? - a track by track analysis...
I played this through twice and could not believe how good it sounded. Here is a rundown of my fantastic listening experience...
Side One:Good Times Bad Times - a great start, not even any crackle in the run in, when the music kicks in it sounds like the fantastic piece of vinyl this is
Babe I m Gonna Leave You - some light crackle at the start, the rest is practically flawless. A great track with a mighty sound - still sounding awesome after all these years
You Shook Me - great listen all the way through, I picked up a light static pop, but I was listening hard. Again it sounds so great
Dazed And Confused - some light crackle on the intro and quiet bits , otherwise plays excellent. The loud and proud bits sound awesome
Side Two:Your Time Is Gonna Come - a couple of light pops as the track builds and some light crackle in the very quiet organ bit. Then drums kick in and it sounds fantastic, a brilliant listen
Black Mountain Side - What a great opening. No detectable background noise, a fantastic listen - sounds great even really loud
Communication Breakdown - the Pi ce de r sistance ? when that opening guitar kicks in it makes the hairs on your arms stand up. Fantastic listen in every way...no discernible issues. Sounds fantastic
I Can t Quit You Baby - the run in after CB and leading into this bluesy cover has a bit of crackle, which does continue a bit into the track. Still a fantastic excellent listen...especially Page s blues lead guitar
How Many More Times - then comes the deep rich bass sound at the start of the last track. I think I heard a light pop on the build up, the music though overpowers everything as it does for the entire LP.
What an amazing full on listening experience
