Description:
Led Zeppelin s debut LP and rare 1st UK press of Led Zeppelin . Released in 1969, this LP is a testament to the band s influential sound. This edition features the uncorrected matrix, corrected Superhype publishing credit label error, and the distinctive turquoise 1st version lettering on the sleeve that was swiftly replaced with an orange design. See reference from DC above.
The Outer Sleeve: - The front is clean and shiny. There is a little laminate creasing, no rips, a slight blemish on the bottom of the grey stripe. Fantastic condition all round the rear has a little laminate lift rt. hand side , a couple of light creases, nice and clean though and shows off the band photos well. The spine is great, text readable and great pinching
The Inner Sleeve: - Made in England with the relevant patent numbers 800513 973939 has some slight discolouration , poly lining intact ...nice...
The labels: - Look bright, have no marks or writing and very little signs around both centre holes of it s past use. Very, very, nice - please view all the photos
The Vinyl: - visually is in pretty good shape -
Side one - There are quite a few light hairline marks - some only evident if you look closely enough. There is nothing that significantly impacts on the listening experience, no loud pops or jumps.
Side two - No major marks, a few light hairlines, better nick visually than side one...I have tried to capture in the photos but difficult to do.
The sleeve and vinyl really looks great considering this items age
How does it sound? - a track by track analysis...
I played this through and could not believe how good it sounded. Here is a rundown of my fantastic listening experience...
Side One:
Good Times Bad Times - light crackle in the run in, when the louder music really kicks in it sounds like the fantastic piece of vinyl this is - nice and loud, very little background noise
Babe I m Gonna Leave You - some light crackle at the start, and in quiet bits, the rest is a great listen. A great track with a mighty sound - still sounding awesome after all these years
You Shook Me - Powerful, and it shook me , barely any detectable background noise or crackle - an awesome listen all the way through, guitar solo sounds awesome
Dazed And Confused - transition from T3 into intro a few light ticks as it builds they disappear and again it sounds awesome, really powerful up to that incredible ending
Overall side one - The loud and proud bits sound awesome
Side Two:
Your Time Is Gonna Come - Great opening , barely any noise, straight into that superb organ, then builds brilliantly, a few very faint ticks, then the rest - AWESOME
Black Mountain Side - then that intro to Black Mountain Side sounded just superb, awesome guitar work, nice and clear plays through nicely
Communication Breakdown - pause Communication Breakdown kicks in - loud, proud and full of attitude still sounding superb on this old piece of vinyl. Fantastic
I Can t Quit You Baby - same again. Powerful opening the faintest of crackle in the quiter bits but such a pleasure to listen to. Led Zep blues rock at its best
How many more times - That bass at the start, awesome, then it just rocks No noise detected, just loud LZ rocking as they do best - ends brilliantly - Fantastic
All in all a great example of this RARE item THAT SOUNDS FANTASTIC. NOBODY COULD BE DISAPPOINTED...PLEASE VIEW ALL THE PHOTOS.
