Original Columbia Records promotional release factory sealed copy of Bob Dylan s 3rd studio album The Times They Are A-Changin released on February 10, 1964. Unlike the previous album The Freewheelin Bob Dylan which included original material with several cover versions, The Times They Are A-Changin contains only the original songs composed by Dylan. It s practically impossible to find this promo release in such a beautiful condition. This promotional issue was sent to radio stations several months before the album s official release date. Original 1st print matte textured cover contains a Columbia Records Radio Station Service Not For Resale timing strip sticker For CL 2105 . The back cover contains the 1 number at the bottom right corner identifying that the cover was printed by Modern Album Finishing Co. in Long Island, NY. The covers containing the 1 identifier were usually distributed to Columbia Records, Pitman, NJ pressing plant. It s most likely this factory sealed copy, just like the commercial release copies, contains inside an original custom 12 x 12 white insert continuing the 11 outlined epitaphs present on the back cover. There s a certain variability when it comes to the labels which can be found on this issue. This could be the promotional Columbia Records Radio Station Copy Not For Resale white labels or the commercial Guaranteed High Fidelity Columbia Two Eye logo labels with a white promotional sticker which the company used in this case. We ve included into this listing an original 1st print 1964 Bob Dylan The Times They Are A Changin 24-page songbook published by M. Witmark Sons, New York, N.Y. which features not only six songs from The Times Are A-Changin album and one from Dylan s previous album The Freewheelin Bob Dylan , but also 3 songs that were composed in 1962/1963 and hadn t been released until 1991 and 2010.
